I once heard that “free advice is worth what you pay for it… Nothing”. As I have grown older I think that advice given with love and wisdom is worth its weight in gold. So here it goes.
Life is a gift, use it well and protect it.
Take satisfaction in your accomplishments.
Be of good moral character. Act as a gentleman.
Do the best to your ability. Don’t compare yourself to others. Gauge your progress by your achievements.
Concentrate on your mind, body and spirit.
Avoid toxic people that steer you away from your goals.
Live your life with few regrets. My wish would be that you have no regrets, but in my experience that seems to be a low probability.
It is difficult to steer a boat by watching the wake. You cannot change what has already taken place.
Look forward to what you can achieve.
Know that you cannot make someone love you.
People will change over time.
There are approximately 400 million people your age in the world. There are many that would make good spouses. Choose well.
Children are a blessing. My greatest joy comes from my family.
Life is not fair so do not expect it to be.
Look for people that would like to mentor you. Life can be full of surprises, it’s good to have a guide to help you.
Keep a work/life balance.
